Quality Control Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection within a CNC machining environment, with in-depth knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection within a CNC machining environment, with in-depth knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM, etc.)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 standards
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with customer and internal specifications
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records
  • Identify and document non-conformances; support root cause and corrective action processes
  • Collaborate with machinists and production personnel to resolve quality issues
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management systems

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality control role in an aerospace machine shop
  • Proficient with measuring instruments and CMM operation/programming (e.g., Mitutoyo, Zeiss, or Hexagon)
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and AS9102 standards
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with aerospace customer requirements (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon)
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality reporting software
  • Certification from ASQ (CQI, CQT) or similar organization is a plus
